Name: Nina Storm/Reko Storm
Age: 16
Gender: Female/Female
Personality: Nina is kind and sweet. Reko is fiery and out there. Nina is generally shy and quiet. Reko is a loud and active social butterfly. Nina is orderly and responsible. Reko is lazy, forgetful, and not at all organized. Nina can get scared very easily. Reko laughs in the face of danger. *Insert Laugh Here*
The twins build off of and keep each other in check. Reko doesn't like to listen to authority and can be pretty cruel when she's in a bad mood, but Nina knows how to calm her down and is the only person she'll listen to. Nina tends to cut herself off from others and lock herself in her room with her anime and video games, but Reko is the only one who can drag her out of the house and force her to have a life.
Appearance: Nina and Reko have been nicknamed 'Elemental Opposites' by their adopted father because of their contradicting features and personalities. The twins stand at 5'5.5 (Five-foot-five-and-a-half-inches) and weigh EXACTLY 123 pounds each. (Freaky, huh?) They have very slim and acrobatic builds, more set for cheerleaders rather than fighters, and have long hair; but this is where their differences kick in.
Nina's hair falls down to the backs of her thighs like an ocean blue waterfall, and she has a slightly wavy fringe that curves towards the left side of her face. She also has eyes that sparkle like the blue depths of an ocean. Her eyes have a tendency of changing drastically with her emotions since she is a very emotional
Now Reko is a completely different story. Although her hair is just as long as her sister's, She tends to keep it in a ponytail. She also has a habit of wearing it out the backs of her hats if she's feeling in a particularly sportie mood. The biggest difference, and where they got their nickname from, is that her hair is as red as lava flowing down the sides of a mountain. Her eyes are a fiery crimson that burn with both passion and attitude. When they stand together, you'd swear they were the embodiment of the fire and water spirits.
Weapon Description: When Nina shifts, she takes the shape of a powerful pistol gun; black in color, with a silver barrel. The gun isn't very bulky, or heavy, and it has plasma blue veins coursing through the center pieces from the barrel down to the grip. In front of the trigger is a metal strip to protect the user's hand from close-range weapons. The gun fires small blue orbs of spirit energy that are extremely powerful; however, because of their power they are extremely inaccurate and have been known to miss targets no more than five feet away. Also, her spirit energy drains at a very high rate due to the power she releases when she is fired.
When Reko shifts, she also takes the appearance of the same type of pistol as her twin sister. One of the main differences; however, is that her gun has plasma red veins coursing through it in the same pattern as her sister. The gun is an exact copy of the first, yet the exact opposite as well. Whilst Nina is extremely powerful, yet highly inaccurate, Reko's spirit bursts lack bite, but are extremely accurate. She has been known to literally drag a person's hand in the direction of an enemy before firing and achieves 'Dead-Eye' (In between the eyes) shots regularly. Because she doesn't exhaust as much power as her twin sister, Reko's stamina is very high and she can be fired almost three times as much as Nina.
The twins, since they lack a Meister, take turns wielding the other. That way their statistics virtually flip. When Reko wields Nina, her accuracy fuses with Nina's power, but Nina still runs out of energy faster. When Nina wields Reko, her accuracy increases, but Reko's spirit blasts are still weak; however, getting shot repeatedly over an extended time will severely cripple anyone. Maybe even kill.
They do have a secret state; however, that their step-father views as a sub-resonance. When Nina and Reko are both dual wield by a Meister, their veins turn purple along with their bullets, and each one takes on the other's attributes. Both their power and accuracy increase, and their spirit Wavelengths fuze with their Meister's, giving them a nearly infinite supply of energy.
After performing Soul Resonance, the pistols fuze together to form a silver rifle with dragon wings along the sides of the scope. The rifle, even though it is a large weapon, is very light and easy to carry. The scope has a bright red beam of light to improve its accuracy and fires powerful blue plasma beams that can burn through mostly anything. It is used mostly as a sniper rifle and has a setting where it charges up to fire a blast of blue energy in the appearance of a ball of blue lightning that explodes on impact with anything. This attack; however, exhausts the twin's energy, which is why it can't be used in quick succession.
Strengths: Reko's strength is just that: Strength. High amounts of energy and dexterity acompany her fiery fighter's spirit. She's quick on her feet and even quicker with her hands. The teen is also very flexable and highly acrobatic.
Nina's strengths are more mental than physical. Although she has an over-average acrobatic advantage, she mostly sticks to careful planning and organizing. She has great mental reflexes and can think, even when her body is petrified with fear. The twins are strongest together as they cover each other's weaknesses. They are the ultimate team and work very well together.
Weaknesses: Reko's weaknesses would probably lie in her not being a very empathetic person. She doesn't practice thinking before she speaks or acts, which puts her in a lot of troubling situations. She also isn't balanced out by fear and has the idea that she is invincible. Then again, she has to be to protect her sister.
Nina's weaknesses are her fears. She's afraid of a lot of things ranging from the general bugs and dark places, to more specific fears like public speaking and making a fool out of herself in front of others. She doesn't take taunts very well since she takes everything to heart, which is why she has problems with trying new things. But strangest of all, the blue-haired girl has a great fear of baths, which is why she takes showers ONLY.
The twins' biggest weakness is when they are seperated for long periods of time. They have a certain skill, which their step-father named their 'Twin-Link' and can sometimes hear and see what the other hears and sees. But if they are seperated for too long, the link fails and they become very suceptable to their weaknesses.
History: Nina and Reko were born in a small village with not that many people to seeming average parents. Their father was a famous marksman and her mother was a stay-at-home. Sadly, their mother didn't handle the pregnancy too well and her mental state hadn't improved after the twins were born; in fact, it worsened. In order to keep his wife's stress level at a minimum, their father would usually take Reko to work with him while Nina stayed at home with her mother.
For a good period of time, this seemed to work just fine. Reko was at first frightened of the loud noises at the gun range, but saw that her father enjoyed them, so eventually she began to enjoy her stay there as well; her father even, while she was still a small child, allowed her to fire a few guns herself.
Nina's story; however, is a very different one. Her mother's mental stability grew worse and worse as the days passed, but she never said anything and kept her true feelings bottled up. Some days she was the loving mother everyone saw her as, but other days she would have mental swings and strike her daughter for no apparent reason. Nina, overpowered by her love for her mother, forced these bad memories away and replaced them with artificial memories of how she came to receive her injuries. Without knowing the truth about the woman's mental illness, it went unchecked and unnoticed, that is until she could no longer control her actions.
While bathing the child one day, the mother had a severe mental episode and pushed her daughter's head beneath the water. Nina at first thought her loving mother was just playing a little game with her, but when she was ready to come back up for air, her mother hadn't released her. Nina began to flail violently, trying to escape her mother, but to no avail. Finally, she could no longer retain her consciousness, and fainted beneath the water.
She would have died there that day were it not for Reko, who accidentally (on purpose) shot off someone's hat in the gun range, being sent home early. She had heard the struggle and rushed upstairs, then pushed her hysterical mother away and rescued her twin sister.
The mother, not able to believe what she had done, could only sit there and watch as Reko carried her sister away into another room to revive her. She wanted to call for help, but didn't know who to tell. She couldn't tell her father; it would break his heart, and she couldn't tell the police because by then she had built up a reputation for prank-calling them, so she took her sister and left her home behind.
Her sister, instead of making a false memory of the incident, simply pushed it from her mind altogether. When she asked Reko why they left home, she told her it was because they were being sent away. This devistated the little girl, but eventually she resigned herself to her fate: putting all her faith into her sister.
They lived as orphans for almost a year, but were very unlucky when the winter arrived. Because they had no previous survival experience, the harsh, bitter cold proved too great for them. They would have both died then were it not for a man traveling that snowy trail.
He rescued the two and put them up for the night. He had guarded and taken care of them for the two days they were unconscious, but when they awoke, they ran away; still having an understandable fear of strangers. They didn't get very far in the snow; however, and yet again found themselves on death's door.
The second time the man rescued them, they were only out for about a day. This time, when they awoke, they didn't run. He introduced himself to them, but they would not speak to him... at all.
For three days they stayed together, the twins never saying a word to him. Eventually, when they got seperated in a freak snowstorm, the twins grew worried for the man's safely and went searching for him, calling his name over the brutal winds. Eventually they found him comfortably snuggled near a fire in a nearby cave. He couldn't figure out why they left the comfort of his warm cabin, but eventually he figured it out.
The three formed their own little family and moved in together in the man's cabin. There they found out that the man who rescued them was a Meister and together with him, they trained their abilities to the fullest. Eventually, the man had taught them all that he could and thought it would be best if they saught professional lessions in Death City.
Rp Example: The sun lazily hung in the sky, a glob of drool hanging from its barely open mouth. The rays of light it produces shine through the open window of a nice-sized house within Death City. Two crimson-colored jewels are exposed as a young sleeper raises her eyelids. The teen sits up, her fiery hair folding over her face in long, straight strands. Annoyed by this, but too tired to do anything about it, the girl rubs the sleep from her eyes before giving an over exaggerated yawn, showing off all her pearly-white teeth.
During the peak of this mighty yawn, an apple is shoved into the girl's mouth, scaring the daylights out of her. "Good morning, Reko!" A female voice calls out to her before her crimson eyes narrow. The teen sitting on the bed before her seems to be an exact mirror image of herself; however, her hair and eye color is ocean blue, instead of fiery red.
The crimson-haired twin says a phrase, but it is completely muffled by the bright red fruit currently jammed in her mouth. She glares at the fruit and chomps down on it, making her sister giggle.
"So how'd you sleep?" The blue-haired twin inquires while leaning closer to her sister.
"Fine until the damn sun came up... What about yourself, Nina?"
"Same old. Except I woke up extra early today. They were showing a secret episode of Shadows of a Warrior this morning and I just couldn't miss it! It was sooo epic!"
"You and your Anime..." She rolls her crimson eyes before taking another bite out of the fruit, then she sits up, allowing the lavender sheets to roll off of her top half. As a cool morning breeze slips into the room and runs its icy finger across her bare, supple breasts, her crimson eyes widen and she quickly covers up. "Why is it so cold!"
"I turned the AC up because it was such a heated episode." Nina gives a very girlish giggle and her sister just blankly stares at her. "Oh!" She cries before slapping her sister's thigh, making her yelp in both shock and discomfort. "Remember how we got our exceptance letters from the academy?"
"Yeah... what about them?"
"Our first day is today."
"WHAT?!"
"You didn't get yourself ready, did you?" Nina asks with a quiet stare. Her sister goes to say something, but Nina gestures with a hand for her to save it. "I already ironed your uniform, packed your lunch, and got your supplies."
Reko drops her head and sighs in relief before leaning on her blue-haired sister. "You're a total life-saver..."
"I know."
"I love you."
"I know."
"I'm hungry."
Nina sighs, "I know..." and she sticks the apple back into her sister's mouth before hopping off the bed.
