This here will provide a general overview of the many races within Soul Eater including Meisters/Weapons, Kinshin, Witches and the like. If you're unfamiliar with Soul Eater or just need to brush up on these races, look no further.
Weapons are human characters who can shape shift into a specific type of weapon. For example, if a Human Weapon was a sword type, they would be able to transform into a sword. Weapons also have what is known as a Partial Form, which is an ability that allows them to transform a small part of their body into a part of their weapon.
Meisters, or Technicians, are human characters who wield Human Weapons in their weapon form. Along with partnering up and using weapons, Technicians also possess individual abilities of their own to help them survive in the absence of a partner.
Corrupted souls are mortal (or immortal) souls who travel down the path of darkness and evil. They accelerate their power by devouring the souls of others and transform themselves into ferocious, power-seeking monsters corrupt by madness.
Kinshin are the manifestation of pure madness and insanity. Their very existence spreads more madness and insanity throughout the world, accelerating the frequency of corrupted souls coming about in the world.
Witches are beings of destruction and breath chaos though out the world. Their destructive and magical powers come from an animal familiar that they base their magical abilities off and they can also transform into their animal spirit.
Shinigami are the immoral beings that maintain order throughout the realm. They are beings of incredible power who regulate the world's energies and act as 'watchers' whose main duty is to observe their world and attempt to regulate any changes.
Other random, mythical and just plain creepy beings also inhabit this world; each with their own special abilities and lifestyle. They each contribute, in their own way, to everything else in the world (including the plot) so watch out. Some of them bite.
