The main goal of the Academy is to protect the world from evil and preserve peace. In the world, there are humans that may abandon their life as a human and go on the path of an Evil human, a path that transforms them into vicious evil beings that kill innocent humans for their pure souls. When enough souls are consumed, the Evil human can transform into an incredibly dangerous being called a Kishin.
To stop this, the SRA trains people to combat against these Evil humans, by training their students from a young age to fight and kill these beings. The SRA trains these Meisters and Weapons to also combat against Witches, which also threaten the peace of the world. Many students are motivated into fighting against the Evil humans and Witches with their main goal: making or becoming a Death scythe. When a Demon Weapon has consumed a certain amount of souls in a particular order (99 Evil human souls and 1 Witch Soul) they gain extraordinary power and can be used by Lord Death himself. Creating a Death scythe is thus known to be a hard and difficult process, and many Meisters are respected for creating a Death scythe, and Death scythes themselves are respected among the students as well.
As well as an organization to protect the peace in the world, Death Weapon Meister Academy is also a philanthropic organization, donating a lot of its money in order to help with the upkeep of the world. In turn, the Academy runs on global tax.
The SRA's Head Master is the leader of the academy. With the powers granted by being this world's God, Shinigami-sama maintains not only Soul Reaver Academy, but the entire world itself. Using his powers he protects and trains the future defenders of the world so that they may continue to protect it from the evil influences of insanity and madness.
Soul Reaver Academy's bread and butter. The teachers of this academy were all once students themselves who've graduated with top marks and have devoted themselves to teaching future students so be all they can be. Because of their graduate status, teachers are automatically granted their full five stars and are extremely powerful.
Soul Reaver Academy is a place where Weapons and Meisters team up together to learn, grow and protect the world. Teams usually consist of a Weapon/Meister pair with compatible soul wavelengths, though there are some exceptions where a Meister will dual wield a pair of weapons or where a weapon will partner up with anything with a compatible wavelength.
Unpartnered students are usually new students who have yet to find a partner. Though the majority are new, there are rare occasions where students prefer to remain autonomous. These students tend to be a hassle for the staff of the SRA to manage and they tend to encourage partnerships, but some just prefer to be alone.
